Swami Vivekanada, the great luminary soul once said “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.”

We at Centum Academy strongly believe in those words of wisdom ushered by Swami Vivekananda. It is this very ‘commitment towards the cause’, that all of us partners left our reasonably gratifying jobs and took a plunge into sector which is full of challenges (which we see as opportunities) – the Indian education sector. When we started our journey, we knew it would be a bumpy ride but never anticipated it would be so enriching in terms of intellectual growth and personal satisfaction. Seeing the spark in the eyes of the kids when they achieve something is really a great gratifying experience.

In the beginning we started helping young kids of Bangalore, ace one of the challenging exams written by 17-18 year-olds in India – IIT JEE. Being the product of the great institution called Indian Institutes of Technology ourselves, we started exploring the sector by assisting the kids aspiring to get into one of these institutions. The very love for the subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics – and a chance to dive deep into these subjects once again lured us towards this noble profession of teaching.

It was a great breakthrough for us when we got an opportunity to partner with the National Public Schools in Bangalore City. Here, we took upon us the responsibility of providing all academic requirements needed to clear examinations like IIT JEE, NTSE, Olympiads, KVPY, SAT among others, within the school premises itself. We were also very fortunate to have a great set of students at NPS who were willing to go an extra mile to achieve academic excellence. It is this commitment of these smart brains which makes us proud. We recently had a very great show in KVPY- 2017 and JEE Mains 2018 which was all because of the hard work and dedication of our students. Few of them were so inspired to achieve success that they gave up on the comforts of their homes and started staying in lodges near our Centre. The objective was to let no stone unturned towards their preparation of JEE Advanced which is scheduled on 20th May, the coming Sunday. The focus on the goal and the willingness to go an extra mile to achieve their goals instills a new confidence in us as well. This Sunday, however they perform, we are more than sure they are on the right track and they would definitely scale heights in their lives. Because after all – its all about ‘commitment’.
